MATCH REPORTS: Double wins

With another busy double header weekend London United faced two road trips away to Coventry on Saturday night and Away to Reading Rockets on Sunday. Saturdays encounter was a fairly straightforward affair, which practicaly ended as a competitive game after the 1st quarter when London United established a comfortable 14 points lead. 6'8'' Polish forward Sebastian Saloman had dominated both boards on his way to 26 points and 12 rebounds. In the second half London United continued at a leisurely pace securing a comfortable 97-71 win.

Sunday's game proved to be a completely different kind of the game. The highly anticipated contest between the 2nd and 3rd teams in the league lived up to its billing. LU started poorly watching helplessly as Reading players found the easy way to the basket. In the first quarter Reading reached a 12 points lead and seemed to be in total control. The switch to a zone defence brought the desired effect for LU. At last London's players were able to stop the Reading fast breaks and deliver the ball to Mantia Callender in the low post who started to make a huge impresion on the game. A combination of hard working defence and a couple of steals allowed LU do limit the deficit to a single point by the half time break. In the second half Mantia Callender continued to devastate Readings defence with powerfull inside moves. The big man from LU proved to be completely unstopable and stunned the crowd when he hit 2 consecutive 3 pointers. In the third quarter LU build a 10 point lead which proved to be enough to secure valuable 94-87 win.
